Optimization of Space Data Development and Distribution and Capacity Building in the Philippines through the PhilSA Integrated Network for Space Enabled Actions towards Sustainability (PINAS) Project
Authors: Princess Angela Young, Ariel Blanco, and Jamaica Pangasinan
The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) launched the PhilSA Integrated Network for Space Enabled Actions towards Sustainability (PINAS) to create a network of institutions and citizen scientists using space data for sustainable development. It addresses challenges in data feedback, dissemination, and capacity building in an archipelagic nation through three phases: Network Building, Capacity Building, and Build-Up and Expansion. Initial activities show the project’s potential to enhance data optimization, distribution, and local capacity use.
