Space capabilities contribute to national imperatives by strengthening the knowledge economy, supporting national security, and advancing scientific discovery. In Volume 3, we showcase the sustaining activities aimed at ensuring continuity and growth of SSTA in the country, particularly of the gains and milestones in capacity-building of people and institutions through linkages, partnerships and outreach efforts.

Through prior initiatives of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Advanced Science and Technology Institute (ASTI), the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research Division (PCIEERD), and the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) and other academic institutions, our country has produced highly skilled space scientists and engineers, forged local and foreign partnerships, and promoted space awareness and appreciation to the public. This emergent capacity equips the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) with the solid foundation and momentum to hit the ground running and to implement new and continuing SSTA programs. The PhilSA shall serve as a home for these personnel and shall nurture their skills, training and experience towards further productive contributions in SSTA for the country. The linkages and partnerships provide a springboard for the PhilSA and they shall be institutionalized and further operationalized through its ensuing programs.

Finally, PhilSA shall expand space outreach initiatives to reach the entire country, in line with its goal of fostering space education and awareness and promoting the growth of the local space ecosystem.
