The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) invites all 3rd and 4th year law students to #JoinTheMission of the Space Policy and Law Essay Writing Contest.
Interested participants should answer the question: What is the importance of the study of law in our country’s quest to be a spacefaring and space capable nation?
Mechanics
- Open to all incoming 3rd and 4th year law students in the Philippines (proof of enrollment of the current school year should be submitted together with the essay).
- The essay should be written in English and have a minimum of 1,500 to a maximum of 2,500 words. The word count should appear on the last page of the essay.
- Send your submissions in a PDF file with the following format: encoded, single space, and with a 1.5 spacing after each paragraph.
- All entries should be original, unpublished and in line with the question:
What is the importance of the study of law in our country’s quest to be a spacefaring and space capable nation?
- AI generated works will not be accepted.
- Entries should be submitted via email to splad@philsa.gov.ph with the subject: SURNAME_NAME_ESSAY TITLE
- Included the following information in the email submission:
Name
Year of Study
School
Contact Number - Accomplish and send the signed participation waiver and release form along with your entry.
- Each participant may only submit one (1) entry.
- The decision of the judges shall be final and cannot be appealed.
- Winners will be notified officially via email, phone call, and an official letter.
- PhilSA employees and relatives within the fourth degree of consanguinity or affinity are not eligible to join.
Deadline of submission: 15 July 2024, 11:59 PM (PhST).
Announcement of winners: August 2024
Criteria for Judging
Top five (5) entries will receive cash prizes from PhilSA:
- 1st Place – 20,000.00 PHP*
- 2nd Place – 10,000.00 PHP*
- 3rd Place – 5,000.00 PHP
- Two (2) runner-up entries will receive a consolation prize of 2,000.00 PHP each.
