The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) invites industries and Industry Engineers (IEs) to participate in InDUS3US, which stands for: Integrated Development of a Unified Standard 3U System. InDUS3US aims to enhance the local upstream space technology sector by empowering local companies.

PhilSA, through its Space Technology Missions and Systems Bureau (STMSB), will engage with industry partners to complete a 3U CubeSat up to preliminary design review (PDR) level, guided by the Agency’s Safety and Mission Assurance (S&MA) Standards.

Selected partners will undergo an 8-month training that involves a systems engineering crash course, mentorship and training on satellite development and testing, and continued collaboration with institutional partners. Twelve (12) unique training courses on satellite design and testing will be conducted during the project.

PhilSA satellite engineers, who completed the know-how transfer and training for satellite development in the United Kingdom for the Multispectral Unit for Land Assessment (MULA) satellite, will facilitate the training.

Interested partners with the following backgrounds are encouraged to apply: system engineering, optical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechanical design, analog electronics, radio frequency (RF) electronics, digital electronics, software engineering, electronics engineering, and physics. Applicants must also be familiar with the following roles/ functions: systems engineering, thermal, radiation, and propulsion, payload, payload front-end electronics, mechanical design, mechanical analysis, power, radio frequency, on-board data handling, flight software, attitude and orbit control systems (AOCS) hardware, and AOCS software.

Register here until 29 April 2022.

InDUS3US is part of PhilSA ISKUELA, or the Inclusive SSTA Knowhow Utilization, Exchange, and Localization Activities–the national know-how transfer and training program of the Agency. InDUS3US is also a project under PhilSA’s flagship program, the Build, Build, Build in Space (B3iS): Philippine Satellites as Vital Component of National ICT Infrastructure project. B3iS aims to promote and support Space Research and Development and Space Industry Capacity Building.
