Duties and Responsibilities:
- 1. Assist the Division Chief (DC) of the Space International Cooperation Division
(SICD) in cooperating and maintaining linkages with national space-related
agencies of other countries in the peaceful use and development of space; - 2. Proactively monitor the current outer space affairs and space-related technology
applications including institutional changes within the United Nations Office for
Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and national space agencies of other countries, and
advise the Senior Officials of such changes and developments as they arise; - 3. Assist the DC in representing the Philippines in the United Nations Committee on
the Peaceful Use of Outer Space and other similar space-related fora, assemblies
and organizations; - 4. Prepare documents for submission to the UNOOSA with information contained in
the National Registry of Space Objects as required under the Registration
Convention among others; - 5. Ensure that the Philippines abides by the various international space treaties and
principles promulgated by the United Nations and is an active participant in the
international space community, including international rules and procedures
concerning Outer Space Treaty and Liability Convention, among others; - 6. Assist the DC in the coordination of entering into contracts, memoranda of
understanding/agreement or other agreements in behalf of the State, in consultation
with the Department of Foreign Affairs and/or concerned agencies; and with the
Legal Services of the Agency; - 7. Assist in the implementation of international programmes, projects, and activities;
- 8. Prepare all communications relative to international cooperation activities of the
Agency, as required; - 9. Supervise the junior staff of the Division and ensure all work requirements is
prepared and submitted under Complete Staff Work (CSW); - 10.Perform other duties of a regular or special nature as may be assigned from time to
time.

Educational background:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Diplomacy, International Development Policy
and other allied fields will be preferred
Experience background:
- – Served as a program/project leader or principal investigator of a R&D
program/project - – Publication of research outputs in peer-reviewed journal
- – Engagement with government agencies, private institutions, international
organizations, or other stakeholders - – Proficiency in English and Filipino communication, both written and verbal as may
be evidenced through publications, project proposal composition, presentations, and
related works
Competencies
- – Demonstrated experience and proven skills in International Relations, and
Diplomacy, including research, coordination, and reporting. - – Knowledge/ experience working with diplomatic missions in the Philippines,
international organization or relevant Philippine government agencies. - – Proven ability to undertake complex work under limited supervision.
- – Proven ability to work under time pressure and effectively able to communicate with
the team, external partners and other stakeholders. - – Demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making ability.
- – High level analytical skills, including excellent communication skills (written and
oral).
