The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) invites everyone to #JoinTheMission and celebrate the Philippine Space Week 2023 with #YamangKalawakan Selfie/Groufie Challenge. Here’s how:

General Mechanics

Contest Period: 

• The contest will run for the duration of the Philippine Space Week (PSW), Aug. 8-14, 2023. Entries will only be accepted during the contest period. 

How to Participate: 

• Participants must pose a creative shot with their favorite space technology that is used at home.
• An explanation as to how this technology found its way into domestic use should accompany the post.
• Each participant can submit multiple entries for the duration of the contest.

Submission: 

• To enter the contest, participants must post their selfie on their public Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook account. 
• In the caption, they must describe what they learned from the exhibit (for category 1) and explain the origin of their favorite space technology at home (for category 2). Use the official contest hashtag, e.g., #YamangKalawakan and #PhilippineSpaceWeek, and tag the official accounts of PhilSA. 
• Participants must make sure their posts are public so the organizers can see and evaluate the entries. 
• Deadline for submission is on 14 Aug 2023, 11:59 PM.

Criteria: 

• Creativity: The uniqueness and originality of the selfie in relation to the theme. 
• Fun Factor: The level of enjoyment and excitement captured in the selfie. 
• Composition/Quality: The overall quality of the photograph and how well it showcases both the participant and the exhibit/space technology. 
• Relevance: The degree to which the selfie and the description of learning complement the theme of the Philippine Space Week. 

Winner Selection: 

• After the contest period ends, a panel of judges from PhilSA will review all eligible entries. 
• The judges will score each selfie based on the judging criteria. 
• The participant with the highest total score will be declared winners. 

Prize: 

• First place: Php 5,000 + Certificate + Exclusive PhilSA Merchandise
• Second place: Php 3,000 + Certificate + Exclusive PhilSA Merchandise
• Third place: Php 2,000 + Certificate + Exclusive PhilSA Merchandise

Winner Announcement: 

• The winners will be announced on PhilSA’s official social media accounts and website. 
• The winners will be contacted directly through the social media account used to submit the winning entry. 

Rights and Permissions: 

• By participating in the contest, participants grant PhilSA the right to use their selfies for promotional purposes, crediting the participant appropriately.
