The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) and the Polish Space Agency (POLSA) have signed an agreement for cooperation on the peaceful uses of outer space at the Sheraton Manila Hotel, Pasay on 05 December 2024.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between PhilSA and POLSA covers the following areas of cooperation: Earth Observation (EO) and remote sensing; space science and exploration of outer space; promotion of space industry; promotion of space education through various academic activities for areas focusing on space science technology applications (SSTA); and other areas of cooperation that may be mutually decided upon by both Agencies.
PhilSA Director General Joel Joseph S. Marciano, Jr. and POLSA Vice President Dr. Michał Wierciński signed the agreement, witnessed by PhilSA Deputy Director General for Space Science and Technology Dr. Gay Jane Perez and Poland Embassy in the Philippines Charge d’Affaires Ms. Anna-Krzak-Danel respectively. The signing ceremony was also joined by representatives from the Embassy of Poland to the Philippines, and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
“PhilSA is especially grateful for this opportunity to collaborate with Poland as we are confident that together we can push these boundaries of knowledge and innovation. This cooperation is not just a means to an end, it is a vital tool that enable us to achieve shared goals,” DG Marciano said.
