The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) is now officially a full member of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF). This was announced during the IAF General Assembly on 14 to 18 October 2024 as part of the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) held in Milan, Italy.
Founded in 1951, the IAF is the world’s largest international space organization with over 563 member organizations from 81 countries. Its members include space agencies, corporations, space societies, research institutions, universities, associations, and museums worldwide.
The IAF annually hosts the IAC, a global forum where advancements in space exploration and applications are shared among space actors. Additionally, it serves as a platform for networking and collaboration across global, multidisciplinary space sectors and topics.
PhilSA’s membership in the IAF strengthens its role in fostering international cooperation in space, providing expanded opportunities for collaboration with global space agencies in advancing space exploration and development.
