The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) invites everyone to join the “GeoGuhit: Move, Map & Make your mark.” competition in celebration of Philippine Space Week 2026.  

By using Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and Global Positioning System (GPS)-enabled technologies, create space-inspired art by walking, running, or cycling. Entries must be related to the Philippine Space Week 2026 theme, “Navigating Tomorrow,” which highlights how space technologies enable various industries, sectors, and communities to address future challenges and opportunities. 

Space technology may seem too technical or out of reach, but these are already used daily through tools like GNSS and GPS found in navigation and mobility applications. GeoGuhit invites you to explore the practical applications of these technologies through artistic expression and movement.

Contest Mechanics and Guidelines 

1. This competition is open to all Filipinos residing in the Philippines. 

2. Participants can join one (1) category only:  

3. Participants must use a GPS tracking application that meets the minimum technical requirements:

• • Must record the participant’s route in real time using the device’s GPS signal (manually plotted or digitally drawn routes are not acceptable);
  • Must display the complete route on a map upon completion of the activity;
  • Must show the total recorded distance, activity date, and activity type (walking, running, OR cycling); and
  • Must generate a screenshot or exportable image of the route map with the above details clearly visible. 

Commonly used applications include Strava, Garmin Connect, Google Fit, and MapMyRun, among others. 

PhilSA does not endorse any specific application. Participants are encouraged to make sure that their chosen application meets the requirements before starting their activity. 

4. The entry must comply with the following requirements: 

a. The GPS artwork must be personally created and completed by the participant using a GPS tracking application during the official competition period from 17 June to 28 July 2026.
b. Participants may use any publicly accessible and safe route in creating their GPS artwork, provided that all local traffic and safety regulations are observed.
c. In conceptualizing their GPS artwork, participants may use route planning tools, including .gpx plotting and AI-assisted planning tools. However, all submitted entries must be personally completed by the participant through actual walking, running, or cycling activities. Manipulated, simulated, falsified, or AI-generated activity records shall be disqualified. The use of AI-assisted tools must be declared through the AI Declaration Form.
d. Entries containing offensive, inappropriate, discriminatory, or plagiarized content shall be automatically disqualified. 

5. A maximum of two (2) entries per category can be submitted per participant. Each entry must be submitted separately and must include the following requirements:

a. Screenshot or exported image of the completed GPS artwork embedded in the route map, with visible activity summary/details from the GPS tracking application, submitted in JPEG or PNG format, with a maximum file size of 10 MB. Submitted screenshots/exported images must be clear, readable, and of sufficient quality to allow proper evaluation.
b. The submitted image must clearly display the following details:

• • • Full route map;
    • Total recorded distance;
    • Activity date; and 
    • Activity type (walking, running, or cycling). 

c. A fast-track video or screen recording of the activity must be submitted with viewing settings set to public and must remain accessible throughout the duration of the competition.
d. A short caption (maximum of 150 words) explaining the artwork concept and its relevance to the theme “Navigating Tomorrow.”
e. Participants must also accomplish all required forms, which are available at bit.ly/GeoGuhitForms:

• • • Certificate of Undertaking; 
    • AI Declaration Form (if applicable); 
    • Certificate of Endorsement (if applicable); and 
    • Copy of valid school ID or proof of enrollment or registration for the current or immediately preceding academic year, for High School Student and College/Tertiary Level Student participants. 

Entries with incomplete attachments will be disqualified.  

All participants shall submit their entries on or before 28 July 2026 (Tuesday) through the official GeoGuhit Submission Form: bit.ly/GeoGuhit2026. An acknowledgement notice will be received upon successful submission. 

6. All submitted works shall remain the property of their respective owners but may be used by PhilSA in publications, websites, social media, educational materials, and other informational content exclusively for the promotion of space education.

7. Winning entries, along with other selected submissions, may be featured during Philippine Space Week and through PhilSA’s official communication platforms. 

8. Officials and employees of PhilSA, and their relatives up to the second degree of affinity or consanguinity, are not eligible to join the contest.

Three winning entries per category shall be awarded the following cash prizes. Winners will be announced during the celebration of Philippine Space Week.

• First Place – Php 15,000.00
• Second Place – Php 10,000.00
• Third Place – Php 5,000.00
