The Build Your Own Model Satellite (BYOMS) Lecture and Competition is an annual Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) activity in celebration of World Space Week that aims to provide kids from Grades 4 to 6 with basic information about satellites—their definition, appearance, parts, how they are put into space, and their importance to society.
After the virtual lecture held on 10 October 2025, the participants were given three (3) days to build their model satellite using recyclable materials.

Levi Bradley, a Grade 5 student, designed his “Hubble Space Telescope” satellite to explore space and learn how stars and galaxies are formed. He believes that exploration starts in the mind and, like his Hubble telescope, he is driven to turn curiosity and creativity into endless possibilities.

Nirelle Jazz is a Grade 6 student who designed the satellite, Eco-llite. With creativity and recycling, Nirelle believes we can build amazing things that bring us closer to space.

Ryan Emmanuel, a Grade 4 student, designed PUSO (Philippine Unit for Space Observation). PUSO is an Earth observation (EO) satellite that aims to protect the environment and assist in building a more prosperous Philippines.
