Assessment of December to May 1-month lead statistical drought hindcasts for the Philippines

Agricultural drought is a recurring problem in the Philippines, especially during El Niño year. In this study, the performance of satellite-based drought forecasts was assessed for the entire country to determine when and where the predictions are reliable. Metrics for evaluation included the accuracy, hit rate, and false alarm rate.
